Blogs are often written on a particular topic and meant to educate, inform, or entertain the readers. Usually the blogs represent the personality of the authors or endeavor to provide the readers with great content and that is generally the purpose of the Website that hosts the blog.

Since there are so many blog sites on the internet, it can be difficult to get traffic to your own blog. Attracting traffic to your blog site isn’t really that easy but there are many things you can do to have your blog site be on top. Refer to your best blogs in newer entries if the subjects are relevant so that your visitors will have an option to go back and see & read your most popular posts. This way, your readers can help spread the word of how good & informative you are as a blogger.

• Read others blogs and post a comment

Another easy way for you to receive traffic is by leaving comments on other people’s blogs. If people read your comment, it’s likely that they’ll also be interested in you and might click on your link to learn more about you.

• Post regularly

If you post to your blog site regularly people will return often. If people find you informative, they will be looking forward to your updates and that will only mean more repeat traffic to your site. You should however try not to go longer than a week without posting otherwise your existence will tend to be forgotten.

• Write the best posts you can

Remember, people will always go for the posts that seem to be informative and helpful. The quality of your post is one thing you need to focus on.

• Create what we are calling BUZZ for your site

You can create a buzz by submitting your articles to sites such as Digg or Reddit which are known for quality articles. There are also services which will help you syndicate your posts and get them growing virally by helping you automatically send them out to the different bookmarking and other sites i.e. Digg.

It takes time and continuous effort before you will see great results but it is well worth your while and will help you become more will know and more traffic will be going to your site.
